1.Compared to normal non-elastic knitted fabrics, elastic knitted fabrics generally have a better elasticity and better recycling properties, and wearing elastic knitted fabrics for close fitting or tight fitting sportswear can also put a bit of pressure on the body. If comfort is the main demand for sportswear, then an effective elasticity of 25% to 40% must be achieved, while competition sportswear, skiwear, tight-fitting clothing and other intimate apparel require an elasticity of 40% or more.

2.The key points affecting the elasticity of knitted fabrics are: the structure of the knitted fabric, for example, ribbed fabrics have better transverse elongation and elasticity than other fabrics; and the type, fineness and content of the elastic fibres. The knitted fabrics used in everyday sportswear generally have a simple structure, such as flat knitting, ribbing and beaded mesh in weft knitting, and double warp knitting in warp knitting. The main elastic fibre is spandex, and the spandex content is higher in swimwear fabrics, generally at 18% to 20%, while other elastic fabrics are usually between 5% and 15%.
